We stayed at a 60 square meter top floor apartment at The Unique on Suk Kasame Road, a side road of Nimmanhaemin Road in Chiang Mai’s popular Nimman area, for 30.000 baht (ca. 850 USD) a month from June – August 2016. This is the ultimate tour of the building and our apartment…
The Unique offers high quality apartments, a nice pool area, two steam rooms, a well equipped gym, 24 hour security, access control and high speed internet access through Sinet up to 100 MBit/s.
The minimum rental period is a convenient one month, making it ideal not only for expats, but also for digital nomads, who require a clean and classy residence. Residents are mostly well situated locals, japanese expats who work at Lamphun or digital nomads.
It’s conveniently located at the northern end of Nimman Road, and therefore very close to Maya Mall (shopping, movie theater), several coworking spaces (e.g. Punspace, MANA, CAMP) and only footsteps away from a bizillion of dining options and cafes.
Our favorite restaurants with vegan food were the vegetarian booth on the lower floor of Maya Mall, definitely “Zaab Nimman” and Anchan in Nimman Rd. Soi 8. Those were our three main options for daily 1-2 dollar/meals. Our favorite coffee dealers were Wake-Up Cafe (also w/ a silent working areas on the upper floors), Ristr8to Café, Local Cafe at Think Park and Starbucks inside Maya Mall (and “My secret Cafe in Town” in Chiang Mai’s old town, which doesn’t really qualify as ‘around the corner’ but needs to be mentioned because it’s so amazing….
We can highly recommend to stay at The Unique, that offers various floor plans in a price range from 25000 Baht/month to 50000 Baht/month.
